Dawa Tenzin

Hello I'm Dawa Tenzin which is Tibetan for learned teacher, a name given to me by spirit. I'm a creator of music and theatre and after working as a professional tarot card reader for six years, spirit has guided me to use my skills to help fund my musical, Tarot Angels & Love, so I'm in the process of setting up a channel on Patreon teach tarot and also to give spiritual support to tarot readers who sometimes need some positive energy.

I'm also an author, my novel "Jorden" is available on Amazon. If anyone asks me what it's about I tell them it's essentually a novel about love but covers some subjects we find uncomfortable. I remember once at a book signing a lady approached me and said "You sold a copy of your book to my fourteen year old son." As it covers adult themes I feared the worst, but she went on to say "He's always reading, always has a book in his hands and he tells me it is the best book he has ever read."

As a person who has had many setbacks to overcome, but has also been really blessed, I believe everyone deserves an opportunity in life, to fulfil their dreams, an opportunity to show what they're about and what they can do. To this end, Tower Musicals will be giving opportunities to under represented groups to be cast in the production both on stage and back stage. For example the story of Tarot Angels & Love explores blindness and sight loss, so blindness or sight loss is not a barrier to performing on stage or back stage in this musical or any other show I produce. We also welcome people with mobility issues and age is not a barrier (I'm 70). When riding on the tram a few weeks ago there was a gentleman called Brian, I believe he was traveling with his carer. He was amazing, full of life, cheeky and I thought he would be be a great asset to any theatre company. Everyone will be paid professional rates.

In 2009 I took " That's Showbiz!" a musical I'd written (music, book & Lyrics) to New York's Midtown International Theatre Festival. I worked with wonderful Broadway stars and had a fantastic time. We won The Most Outstanding Production of a Musical, Best Choreography and Best Costumes. I learned so much and will be forever grateful for the opportunity.

Last year my son Daniel discovered the music I'd written in the early 1990s for a musical called Tarot. He said Dad, it's really good, you should do something with it. I revisited it, re-wrote the book and some of the lyrics. Then a miracle happened.

I went on a website called Fiverr to find a freelance who could help me with some orchestrations and arrangements for my music. The first person I contacted was Giuseppe from Bogota Colombia. He is a wonderful human being, his orchestrations and arrangements were fantastic and at a price I could afford. In April this year (2025) I traveled to Bogota to have the music and vocals recorded. It was a brilliant experience. I met Diego, our recording engineer and all the musicians and vocalists. They are all very talented and wonderful people. One day I would love there to be a production of Tarot Angels & Love in Bogota.

As well as using my tarot reading skills on Patreon to raise funds towards a professional first class production of Tarot Angels & Love in Blackpool in 2026, I am also applying for an Arts Council National Lottery grant and setting up a Kickstarter page to raise funds from supporters. Working with the local theatre community and local businesses in Blackpool is really important to me. I feel If Tower Musicals can, in it's own small way support other companies within our community it has to be good for Blackpool and using recycled materials for props, sets and costumes will be good for our environment.

At the end of the day a production will only succeed with the support of audiences. I want everybody to be able to come and enjoy it. This means having relaxed performances, described performances for blind or partially sighted people and signed performances for those with hearing difficulties, plus access for all, physical access and ticket prices which don't preclude people.
